RULES All school rules (no electronics or hats, keep good attendance, etc.) Be on time and always come prepared with the necessary materials Be respectful to all Seek extra help when needed

MY PROMISE TO YOU Be available before and after school for help Answer your questions and respect you Welcome mistakes Help you be successful in this class

Positive Behavior Turn in all assignments on time Be on time and come prepared Seek extra help and support when you need it Be in constant communication with Ms. Ballard (check grade, extra help, etc.)

REWARDS! If you have an “A” at the end of the semester, you are exempt from taking the final If you have the highest grade in the class at the end of the semester, you will be invited to a pizza/award party

Course Requirements Consequence for being unprepared: Lower grade and lower work habits/citizenship BE PREPARED!!!

ABSENCES Unexcused – zeroes for all work missed (including tests & major projects) Excused – see Ms. B (before or after school) within 3 days of return to get what was missed/schedule make-ups

GRADES Tests/Quizzes – 40% Writing/Projects – 30% Standards Practice – 20% Work Habits/Citizenship – 10%

SUPPLIES Textbook Paper (white, loose-leaf) Pens (blue or black and red) #2 pencils (at least 2 with erasers) Dry erase marker Composition notebook

EXTRA GUIDELINES Each assignment must be labeled with your name, the date and the class period (upper right corner) Think before you speak. Be an active listener. Remember, it is your future!
