Kingdom Righteousness Dealing With Revenge Pharasaic Righteousness vs. Kingdom Righteousness Pharasaic Righteousness - lowered the moral and spiritual level of the law while increasing the legalistic demand. They extended the principle of just punishment within the legal system to the realm of personal relationships, justifying personal revenge.

Kingdom Righteousness Dealing With Revenge Pharasaic Righteousness vs. Kingdom Righteousness Kingdom Righteousness - addresses issues that have as their source, the human heart. Jesus IS NOT contradicting the principle of a society ordering proper punishment for a crime committed. Jesus IS saying that what is applicable in a legal system is not applicable in personal relationships.

Kingdom Righteousness Dealing With Revenge Practical Truths: Vengeance must not be a part of a kingdom citizen’s character.

Kingdom Righteousness Dealing With Revenge Practical Truths: The strategy in getting rid of evil. Evil cannot be destroyed by evil. When you fight evil with evil, evil rules. Evil is only overcome by good.

Kingdom Righteousness Dealing With Revenge Practical Truths: Application to justice and civil government. Can a Christian utilize the courts to enact justice? Civil government is instituted by God to punish the evil doer. God expresses His vengeance toward an evil doer through civil government.

Kingdom Righteousness Dealing With Revenge Practical Truths: Jesus is not saying a Christian must become a weakling who never offers resistance against evil. He is not prohibiting the administration of justice, but is forbidding taking the law into our own hands.
