Join us on our journey…. To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Technical Award in Graphic Design, learners are required to successfully complete 4 mandatory units. Learners must also achieve a minimum of a Pass in the external assessment. Unit 2 Graphic Design Practise Join us on our journey…. Unit 2 In this unit you will explore design disciplines, examine the work of recognised designers and use your understanding of design components to identify successful design practice. You will choose one discipline, select some work by a recognised designer in that discipline and create your own piece of graphic design taking inspiration from your research and using components found in the work of your chosen designer. Responding to a Graphic Design brief Join us on our journey…. Unit 3 Responding to a Graphic Design brief You will analyse the requirement of a graphic design brief. You will understand the requirements and develop some possible ideas to meet the brief. You will further develop an idea and present your final graphic design. Finally, you will analyse your work and review how you have met the brief.

Unit 4 Graphic Design Portfolio You will explore working in the graphic design industry, by looking at different ways to present work to understand different types of portfolio. You will then design and create your own portfolio and review how the portfolio presents your skills as a graphic designer.

Exam Each learner is required to undertake an external assessment. Join us on our journey…. Exam Each learner is required to undertake an external assessment. External assessments are set and marked by NCFE. The assessment assesses learners’ knowledge, understanding and skills from across all units of the qualification. The external assessment will take place towards the end of the qualification after these units have been taught. Any stimulus material used by the centre or work completed during the teaching of the unit cannot be used as evidence in the external assessment. The external assessment is as follows: Practical exam – 10 hours invigilated externally set assessment.
