Year 2 National Army Museum 30th January 2019 Ms Osuagwu

Year 2 went to the National Army Museum to find out more about the lives of two very influential women, Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. They also visited some of the museum’s vast collection of artefacts about war and conflict. In the afternoon, they learnt about the way in which army uniform has changed over the ages. They were set a challenge of selecting the most suitable material to build a shelter to keep a soldier dry.

Year 2 investigated different artefacts that were used during the time of Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale.

What were these artefacts used for?

What do the artefacts tell us about life during this time?

Florence Nightingale would have used a lamp like this.
