Finish ‘A Voyage Through Time’ Tuesday, April 23, 2019 A-Day Objective: YWBAT depict and explain the break-up of Pangaea. Drill: List three puzzling occurrences that the theory of continental drift helped to explain, and describe how it explained them. Homework Finish ‘A Voyage Through Time’

Answer Occurrences include the puzzle like fit of the continents, the match of glacial grooves, the occurrence of fossils of the same species on different continents, and the distribution of rock types and ancient climatic zones. Continental drift explained that these coincidences exist because at one time, all the continents were joined together in one large landmass.

Did you know…? Convection currents circulate material deep inside the Earth in a long, slow movement. The material cooks near the surface and then sinks again into the depths.
