Focus on Food Waste WasteWatch powered by LeanPath is a Global Strategic Priority Food waste is one of the largest scandals of our time— 30% of the food produced around the world is wasted.… For many years now, we are focusing our efforts on reducing this food waste with two benefits: One, it shows greater respect for the planet and what the planet allows us to produce; two, there is an economic scope to this because food waste is economic waste, therefore economic nonperformance. For several years now, we have entered in alliance with partners. You can’t reduce food waste on your own….We cooperated with LeanPath, who make it possible to educate and work with our sites’ managers and their teams on how to measure waste and with some extremely good results in terms of reduction. Now this is something which is ongoing and is of extremely important concern for us. – Denis Machuel, Chief Executive Officer, Sodexo “ Champions 12.3 Sodexo is a signatory of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 12.3 - A unique coalition of executives from governments, businesses, international organizations, research institutions, and civil society dedicated to inspiring ambition, mobilizing action, and accelerating progress toward achieving SDG Target 12.3 ” Champions 12.3 Target 12.3 “By 2030, halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels and reduce food losses along production and supply chains, including post-harvest losses.” Sodexo is a signatory of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 12.3 - A unique coalition of executives from governments, businesses, international organizations, research institutions, and civil society dedicated to inspiring ambition, mobilizing action, and accelerating progress toward achieving SDG Target 12.3 The Better Tomorrow 2025 Roadmap commits to 100% of sites tracking food
