Trump research Is culture the culprit? By: Nyla Hassan, Emma, Cline, Naomi Hall- Schiffner, Nevaeh Davis

What is the issue? Donald Trump, our president, is the issue we’re focusing on today. The problem we have with him is his leadership, as in the discriminating comments he both says and posts online, and his biased, thoughtless decisions.

Who is involved/ why is this an issue? His decisions are such a big impact because he isn’t just making them for himself, it affects everyone including the whole U.S. and other countries. Donald Trump’s poor decision making and discriminating comments are causing conflicts and rebellions all over.

When is it occurring/ when did it start? These things are currently happening but it isn’t anything new, these events have been happening since the election has first started. Donald Trump does these behaviors over social media most of the time and also did through the election.

Racist and discriminating tweets President Trump uses the Government Issued Twitter account as an outlet of sorts, causing a great deal of backlash with every tweet. None are overlooked, but here we’re focusing on his racist and discriminating comments. Trump also has a history of deleting his tweets, which were archived by ProPublica, urged Alabamans to "finish the job" and "vote today for Big Luther." Trump also deleted an inaccurate tweet telling Moore to win in November; the general election is in December.

Why is this an issue This is a major issue because our country’s constitution claims that everyone was created equally and is entitled to their inalienable right’s; it was what we were founded on. Trump is doing just the opposite. Telling certain ethnic groups that they are a threat based off of the color of their skin, or that they need to leave because they are not welcome here in our “free country”, is adding to the United State’s past mistakes- slavery, discriminating against native Americans/ American Indians- and theoretically, throwing us back in time, making us rebuild and change our reputation. On the other hand, Donald Trump has his own beliefs, and most unfortunately, he’s very one-sided about them. He resists being trans and homophobic, yet removes them from the military, taking out 15,500 transgender people that were currently serving. Trump said that the military couldn’t afford the medical costs necessary, yet care for transgender people in the military would add $8.4 million to the total medical costs of all active duty service members, according to an analysis RAND Corp. That's a little more than 0.1 percent of what the military spends on medical care for all service members. To put that in perspective, it's about 0.0014 percent of Trump’s total defense budget proposal.

How is culture involved? Culture is the culprit. Many people despise our President because of the way they were raised, what their morals are, and what is right or wrong. About 1 in 4 American's still support Trump, however about 39% of his supporters are likely to abandon him. His cruel and demoralizing comments are part of the reason the rest of the country and the world loathe him. His words degrade and offend a variety of cultures/ ethnic groups.
