Activator Which car should he buy? Sit down SILENTLY 2) Write HW in agenda 3) Do activator Victor was having a hard time deciding which new vehicle he should buy. He decided to make the final decision based on the gas efficiency of each car. A car that is more gas efficient gets more miles per gallon of gas. When he asked the manager at each car dealership for the gas mileage data, he received two different representations, which are shown below. Insight Focus Gallons of Gas 4 8 12 Number of Miles 68 136 204 Which car should he buy?

Objective I will be able to analyze different unit rates given in words, tables, equations and graphs. So I can apply my knowledge to solve real world examples. I will demonstrate my understanding when I can successfully complete a tic-tac-toe independently. 6RP2, 6RP3

Language Objective By the end of the lesson, I will be able to use the language domains of listening, speaking, reading and writing. I will listen and discuss with my classmates and teacher how to solve problems by analyzing different unit rates given in words, tables, equations and graphs. I will show I know it when I can independently record my answers to at least 3 correct problems to form a tic-tac- toe. Academic math language vocabulary: Rate, unit rate, equations, table, graph

Which market has the best price for watermelon? We do… Vivian wants to buy a watermelon. Kingston’s Market has 10-pound watermelons for $3.90, but the Farmer’s Market has 12-pound watermelons for $4.44. Which market has the best price for watermelon? What is the difference between the two unit prices?

Work on your tic-tac-toe problems independently. Make sure to round your answers to the nearest cent.
