Dragon’s Den - Infomercials!

Learning Goal Learning Goal: after this lesson, you will understand the value of marketing for the purpose of educating potential consumers and communicating the value of your product.

To Start… Get into your Dragon’s Den teams As we watch the clip, write down what you notice about the elements of the advertisement. What is the product? Did the advertisement address the problem? Was there an opportunity to purchase? Was there a story line? Think about ways in which you could use an infomercial to promote your product

Watch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xZp-GLMMJ0&spfreload=10

What is an infomercial? An advertisement shown on television that aims to educate potential consumers about the benefits of a product An infomercial features a call to action, which could be a telephone number to call in order to purchase the product Infomercials provide information to consumers and convince them to buy the product, these products are usually new inventions that people do not yet know about

Your turn! In your Dragon’s Den teams, you will be responsible for creating your own infomercial about your product The infomercial must be 3-5 minutes in length and will be recorded and viewed in class. All team members must contribute in some way to the production of this commercial, whether by acting or overall production. Remember to include all the elements of an infomercial that we watched and discussed. This mark will be counted toward both your drama and English marks so be creative and work hard!!! 
