A Christ Centred Life. Ephesians 1:1-14 The Position of the Believer. The Spiritual Wealth of the Believer. The Believers resources in Christ.

Three scripture verses that has made a profound impact on me are: Ephesians 1:3 which says: How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every blessing in heaven because we belong to Christ. Hebrews 2:2 Therefore we must pay the closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. 2 For if the message declared by angels was valid and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? Colossians 3:3 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 Your real life is Christ and when He appears, then you too will appear with Him and share His glory!

The Nature of a man’s heart. It has been designed to worship. If it does not worship God, It will worship something else. If we are not Christ-Centred, we will be centred on something else!

When God got hold of us we got LIFE. If you want life, you get it from Jesus Christ. If you want more life, you get closer to Jesus Christ, and spend more time with Him.

This means that Christ must be: The source of life for us, and And must be the principle of life in us. The core purpose of a Christian is to be in Christ and to live a CHRIST CENTRED LIFE.

A Christ-Centred Life verses a Me Centred Life. A Christ prepared heart each and every day. I do all things in my own strength each and every day. Makes decisions based on pleasing God. I make decisions based on pleasing self or others. Is grieved over personal sin. I consider myself a good person. Conscious of developing the fruits of the Spirit. I accept negative traits as “that’s just who I am”. Enjoys worshipping with others. I have a self defined relationship with God that requires no fellowship, teaching or accountability.

Results of a Me-Centred Life: Is a Satan centred life. It is self damaging in the short term. It is self destroying in the long term. Treats the sacrifice of Jesus with impunity. Is negligence of such a great salvation.

What is my motivation to be Christ-Centred? Hebrews 2:2 The fear of treating a great salvation with impunity. Therefore we must pay the closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. 2 For if the message declared by angels was valid and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?

Why should I be Christ-Centred? Psalm 139 Living Bible (TLB) 139 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. 2 You know when I sit or stand. When far away you know my every thought. 3 You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am. 4 You know what I am going to say before I even say it.

What do I need to do to be Christ-Centred? Proverbs 9:10 For the reverence and fear of God are basic to all wisdom. Knowing God results in every other kind of understanding. The fear of the Lord is the continual awareness that our loving heavenly Father is watching and evaluating everything we think, say, or do. I need to understand that If Jesus was spending the day with me, Would I do that? Would I watch that? Would I say that?” I need to understand that a Christ-centred person cannot endure living in disharmony with God and should quickly confess sin and be restored to fellowship with God. I need to understand that every lifestyle decision is weighed on heaven’s scales and evaluated for its eternal significance.

The perks of a Christ-Centred Life. Receive a personal connection with Jesus Christ Receive the Holy Spirit as a help and companion in your life Receive victory over sin and all the things that make you miserable Take on the virtues of Christ and be transformed into His image Happiness in the earthly life Life in eternity as Jesus’ Bride

What do YOU need to do to be Christ-Centred? Die to self. Read the scriptures every day. Pray every day. Repent of all sins. Realize the ultimate price that was paid for you. Seek to be constant companionship with God and His people.
