Editing & Revising To do: Night Rhetorical Analysis Paper Top Ten Noticeable Errors: Too informal; avoid “you” Cite page numbers after the quote, not as part of the sentence Underline novel titles, not in quotation marks Too repetitive of word choices Choose synonyms for common words (a lot) Show, don’t tell! Write out number below ten Use the author’s last name when referencing, not his first Avoid: “author did a great job…” Comma usage To do: Each group has a mixture of scores: high, medium & low Read highest score aloud; others jot down notes focusing on what they hear Discuss Pass & read papers, editing through each time Revisions due Friday
