Purpose Why is this important?

Problems with the current system Time Intensive Manpower Intensive Risk of Infection

Time Intensive Requires patient to wait for assistance Procedure takes longer with patients who are injured Hospital staff availability

Manpower Intensive Requires hospital staff at every incident Hospital staff must be present throughout procedure Bedpans need specialized cleaning care Bedpans must be sterilized before each use

Potential Risks for Infection Inadequate cleaning and sterilization Potential contact with waste material for hospital staff Potential contact with waste material for patients Possibility for spills to occur during process
