Parent Information Evening 2019 St Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School

Welcome to Year 3

Prayer Dear God, A new school year has begun. We ask your blessings on all those who teach our children. Help teachers to find patience and compassion as they teach important lessons. Let teachers feel respected and loved. We ask for your blessing on parents everywhere. Give parents the strength to know when to let go and when to hold tight. Help parents lift up their children so that all children know the importance of learning. Let parents feel respected and loved. Amen

Chrome books This year your child will have a Chromebook and access to the internet at school to enhance their learning. As you may be aware, the jobs of the future you aspire for your child will require a strong understanding of technology and at SHAPS we want to give your child the opportunity to use these tools. Students will be receiving their computers early Term 2. Chromebook use will mainly consist of researching topics or creating content. Your child will be limited on what they can access to protect them from inappropriate material. Please ensure that your child charges their laptop every night and ensure that your child is safe whilst using technology by constantly monitoring them.

Meetings with teachers If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s learning, please see your child’s classroom teacher. Please be aware that we are unable to discuss your child's progress or address any concerns during home time (3.10pm-3:30pm) as all teachers are required to supervise their classes. We encourage you to call the office to book an appointment with the classroom teacher. We will endeavour to answer your questions as promptly as we can.

Parent Concerns Please follow the correct points in contact if you have any concerns that may affect your child’s wellbeing: Classroom Teacher Grade Leader Deputy Principal Principal. You may report to the Principal if the concern is a serious matter (Child Protection).
