The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen

The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen of 1789 is a legal text prepared during the French Revolution, containing a solemn enumeration of fundamental rights of the individual and the citizen

Consist of a preamble and 17 articles, which contain the basic rules regarding the relations between citizens and institutions. The first one is equality between all human beings (Art.1), followed by the list of natural and imprescriptible rights of man which must be guided by the action of the political associations (Art.2), which are identified in: -personal freedom - properties - safety -resistence to oppression.

Articles 10 and 11 Are firstly dealing with freedom of opinion and expression and then of worship.

Article 9 The rights of the child to get in contact with his parents in case of separation.

Another pillar of the Declaration is the principle of democratic sovereignity (Article 3), which provides that the principle of all sovereignity lies essentially in the nation
