HIGHLIGHTS Keenville Features Designed to engage students through features such as an avatar builder; earning rewards; decorating their house; and fun sights, sounds and reactions Students receive ongoing support through motivational prompts and feedback Games often include Georgia-specific themes and integrate other standards and initiatives, such as science, arts, and nutrition. Georgia Milestones Spring 2018 Testing Volume Online Testing HIGHLIGHTS Georgia Milestones Spring 2018 Testing Volume EOG: 801,000+ students EOC: 433,000+ students (tests) Combined: 1,234,000+ students Online Testing This past spring, districts assessed approximately 88% of students online (82% EOG and 99% EOC). Peak concurrency saw approximately 141,000 students testing simultaneously. No Major Statewide Issues There were some small, localized issues in some areas, primarily due to connectivity/bandwidth issues.

Statewide Online Actual (Expected) Benefits of Online Testing Innovative item types Standardized accommodations (read aloud, video sign language, etc.) Features available to all students (large print, masking tool, highlighter, etc.) Increased test security More efficient administration Faster score returns Increased flexibility in scheduling Goal Paper/pencil will continue to be available for accommodated students who cannot interact with a computer due to their disability and are not included in the 100% online requirement in 2018-2019.

Georgia Milestones New for 2018-2019: HIGHLIGHTS Scheduling flexibility – school districts can utilize the entire spring testing window (6 weeks) in order to complete assessments while maximizing instructional time and taking into consideration available resources. New technology enhanced items – field testing graphing and drag-and- drop items that allow students to demonstrate depth of understanding through performance tasks.

HIGHLIGHTS CCRPI The College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) was redesigned under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) based on statewide stakeholder feedback. Focuses on the opportunities and outcomes expected of all students. Includes multiple measures and values educating the whole child. Provides individualized targets and rewards progress Provides scores on a 0-100 point scale for all indicators, components, and overall scores. Features new online reports that are easier to navigate. The 2018 CCRPI reports were released in October 2018.

What’s in a number? Lots of things! HIGHLIGHTS What’s in a number? Lots of things! We must dig into the numbers to deepen our understanding. We must ask questions. The numbers provide information – they do not provide the root causes or tell us what action to take. Do not forget – while CCRPI may focus on numbers, we cannot forget that every number represents a Georgia learner!

Key Take-Aways HIGHLIGHTS The redesigned CCRPI is based on two years of stakeholder feedback and the work of the ESSA Accountability Working Committee. 2018 CCRPI scores cannot be compared to previous years; however, some data points (such as performance on state assessments and graduation rates) can be compared. Look beyond the overall score and consider the whole story. The redesigned CCRPI paints a richer picture of performance by considering achievement; growth; subgroup improvement; readiness for the next grade, course, or college or career; and graduation rate. The new reporting system makes it easier for stakeholders to access scores and dig into the underlying data. The redesigned CCRPI is about understanding performance and working together to promote improvement. Every school will have successes to celebrate and areas for improvement!
