Key Study: Yuki’s Emoticon Study (2007)

Evaluating a Study: GRAVE Generalisable? How many people were used in the sample? Can the results of the study be applied to the wider population? Did the sample come from one culture? Can the results be applied to other cultures? R Reliable? Has the researcher used a reliable method? Can the results be repeated? A Applications? Application – Have the conclusions been used to change anything in society? Have the conclusions changed the way we think? Have any laws been made as a result? V Valid? Was the experiment conducted in a real-life setting? Was the task that the participants performed something that they would normally do? E Ethical? Were any ethical rules broken? Were the participants informed about their right to withdraw? Did they consent to be a part of the study? Were they caused any psychological or physical harm? Were they debriefed at the end of the study? Were they offered counselling?
