Summer Math Curse 2018 By Charlie Wilmeth

Problem #1 I went to the fair three days out of the seven days it was open over the summer. I rode a total of 39 rides. On average, how many rides did I ride per day I was at the fair? On average, how many rides did I ride per day that the fair was open?

Problem #2 I went to the pool multiple times over the summer and played GaGa Ball a lot. The GaGa Ball pit has 8 sides and 8 angles. If the angles all totaled 1080 degrees, how many degrees are in each angle?

Problem #3 We went to Cleveland, Ohio, for a family reunion. It was 400 miles away. We drove 250 miles before stopping for gas. What fraction of the trip did we have left to go? What fraction of the trip had we already driven?

Answer Key Problem #1 39 rides/3 days = 13 rides per day 39 rides/7 days = 5-4/7ths rides per day Problem #2 Divide 1080 degrees by 8. 1080/8=135 degrees Problem #3 150/400 or 15/40 or 3/8ths of the trip left 250/400 or 25/40 or 5/8ths of the trip already done
