Homework Tuesday, April 23, 2019 Objective: YWBAT depict and explain the break-up of Pangaea. Drill: What is the theory of continental drift? Homework Study WOW Return Northbay form

Answer Continental drift is Alfred Wegner’s theory that continents can drift apart from one another and have done so in the past.

Did you know…? Convection currents circulate material deep inside the Earth in a long, slow movement. The material cooks near the surface and then sinks again into the depths.

Today’s Activities Drill A Voyage Through Time Conclusion Finish coloring Cut the frames on the dotted line Assemble with Frame 1 on top Conclusion

Why wasn’t Wegener’s theory of continental drift accepted at first? Closure Why wasn’t Wegener’s theory of continental drift accepted at first?

Alfred Wegener’s theory was not initially accepted because no one knew what force could be strong enough to move continents.
