Introduction You will not find a “direct” reference to God Yet you will see him “shadowed” throughout 4 Key People You must see in Esther King= “God”- Ultimate Authority Mordecai= “Jesus”- 2:5- Benjaminite- Son of the right hand, Esther= “Bride of Christ” the church, together with Mordecai they preserve the people Haman= “devil/antichrist”- Agagite- King Agag (Saul) Scheme to destroy God’s People

Chapter 1 1:11-12- Vashti is invited, but she refuses to come She is the queen and refuses to come to the King She is rejected as Queen and loses her status Reminds me of those in Matthew 22

Chapter 2 2:12- “Beauty Pageant” set up 12 Months of preparation 6 months in oil and myth 6 months in perfumes 2:13- Women got anything they wanted from the Kings House 2:15- Esther took only that the “chamberlain” recommended Chamberlain= “Holy Spirit” 2:16-17- Why you think we call her “Queen Esther”

Chapter 3 3:2= Mordecai refuses to bow to Haman Who is Haman? Had king promoted power Wanted to be like the King Matthew 4- “If Devil” devil wants Jesus to “bow” (If vs. It) 3:6= Haman goes after all the Jews He hated Mordecai, so he hated his people Satan hates Jesus, so he hates us Haman causes a decree to go out, a “curse” if you will. Sound Familiar?

Chapter 4(A) 4:1= Mordecai Cries out Jesus came crying out 4:14= “for such a time as this” Where is the church? what are we doing? Esther had a calling, she done it, Are we?

Chapter 4 (B) 4:13-15= Mordecai helped push Esther to the king Jesus will always point to the Father The King sees us “Through Jesus” ( 1 Cor. 15:57) 4:16= “If I Perish, I Perish” Esther was willing to die, as long as she died for the cause 4:16= A three day period that would Change it all Sound Familiar?

Chapter 5 5:1-2- Esther finds favor with the King King loves the attention of his bride God loves the attention of the bride Esther Set ups a banquet for the King 5:9= Mordecai is still not bowing to Haman Jesus will “NEVER BOW” to the devil The devil will however, bow to Jesus 5:13-14= Haman gets upset Haman builds gallows to kill Mordecai (vs 14) Devil ever try to use Jesus being hung on something to destroy Him?

(Haman thought he was talking about him) 4 Things Haman wanted, so he suggested them Horse the King rode Robe the King wore Kings Royal Crown Bring him through the city, (parade)

Chapter 6 (B) Enemy has always been like this Isaiah 14:14- “I will be like the most High” Ezekiel 28- Anointed Cherub, Wanted throne 1 Peter 5:8 ““AS” a roaring lion” 6:10-11= Haman has to set this up for Mordecai, and crawls home with head tucked The enemy will bow one day! He himself will say “HAIL KING JESUS”

Chapter 7 7:1-10= Esther has a banquet for the King Esther Intercedes for her people and reveals the plan of Haman Jesus is interceding for His people, and he can cancel the plans of the enemy! 7:10= Haman is killed on the very gallows he built to destroy Mordecai the devil wasn’t crucified, but what he thought would kill Jesus was turned and used to “kill him” (CROSS)- Colossians 2:14

Chapter 8 8:1= King gives Haman’s house to Esther One day- New Heavan and Earth Prince of the air will lose his “deed” 8:2= King give Mordecai the ring Haman wore Signet ring- much like a “key” Jesus got some keys that the devil had! 8:2= Esther “appointed” Mordecai over Haman’s area When is the church going to put Jesus where he belongs? 8:5= “reverse the curse”
