Paleolithic Age v The Neolithic Revolution Which was more beneficial to mankind?

Round 1: In your groups, make a list of the Pros and Cons for how the Paleolithic Age affected mankind on your paper. Be sure to consider Social classes Gender roles Organization Large projects Food supplies Disease/physical impact

Round 2: Read the article by Howell on the benefits of the Neolithic Revolution. Create a Pro/Cons list for this age on the back of your paper. Be sure to consider Social classes Gender roles Organization Large projects Food supplies Disease/physical impact

Round 3: Write: You will be debating with your group over which age you think was more beneficial to mankind. Before you debate you will need to develop… Your stance/argument. Which age do you think is most beneficial and why? Your evidence: Write down a list of specific details and facts that will help to backup your argument or stance. Defense- what evidence or parts of your argument might others disagree with? What could they challenge? How will you defend your side? Challenges- What could be some strong arguments for the otherside? How will you try to undermine these arguments?

Round 4: DEBATE! Each person in the group is expected to share their argument. You are responsible for recording what each person’s argument is and which “side” they are on. You also need to record at least one reason they give to support their argument. Whoever presents the best arguments/challenges with evidence will get an extra 2 points in this activity- you will vote on who gave the best argument at the end.
