Reflection week beginning 16 May 2017 Perseverance Reflection week beginning 16 May 2017
Perseverance The definition of ‘perseverance’ is: ‘persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success’. Perseverance isn’t easy. It means that even when things get really hard for us, we don’t give up. A well-known saying is, ‘when the going gets tough, the tough get going’! In school, and in life, all of us will have times when things are difficult for us. Then, we will face a decision: do we give up or do we persevere? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nifq3Ke2Q30 This video shows a young athlete, Derek Redmond, who had trained all his life for the race. (The man who appears on the track alongside him is his father.)
Perseverance Is this true?
To think about… Who can help us persevere? For Christians, it can be God. For others, it may be our friends or family.
