Approved to God Definition of Approved consider agreeable or good; judge favorably; to consent or agree to to speak, think, or consider favorable to have a very good opinion, expressed or not, of someone or something: To consider right or good OPPOSITE – Reject

Approved to God We should seek God’s approval in all things: II Corinthians 5:9 – “We make it our aim… to be well pleasing to Him” II Timothy 2:15 – “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Approved to God One Approved to God is Not One Approved to God is

One Approved to God is Not… One who commends himself: II Corinthians 10:12 – “For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves” II Corinthians 10:17-18 – “For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.” Luke 18:9-14 – “He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous” Romans 10:1-3 – “seeking to establish their own righteousness”

One Approved of God is Not… One who commends himself One who is approved to others I Samuel 16:7 – “man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” Matthew 23:27-28 – “you also outwardly appear righteous to me” Luke 16:15 – “those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts”

One Approved to God is… Diligent Hebrews 11:6 – “He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” II Peter 1:10 – “Be even more diligent to make your call and election sure” II Peter 3:13-14 – “be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless”

One Approved to God is… Diligent A Worker Ephesians 2:8-10 – “we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works” Mark 16:15 – “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” Matthew 9:36-38 – “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few”

One Approved to God is… Diligent A Worker Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth II Peter 3:16 – “twist to their own destruction” Galatians 1:6-9 – “some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ” Psalms 1:1-2 – “his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night” Acts 17:10-11 – “searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so”

Conclusion – Approved to God Matthew 25:31-34 – “Come , you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” Rejected: Matthew 25:41 – “Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels” Why not seek God’s approval in all things in your life… starting even this morning?
