Creating a new document (CTRL + N) 1st Step 2nd Step

Saving a document (CTRL + S) Click on the quick access save button Name the document and click on the save button

Sometimes we need to save a document in different file type why? PDF is a document file type that does not let any other person edit the content of the document therefore it is secured and portable. RTF is a universal type of document which is compatible with all operating systems therefore it is portable and interoperable.

Switching between Document Windows Switch between documents – Note that the active document name is SavingasRTF

Conclusion We can create a new document by clicking on File tab and click on New / Default Document. By pressing CTRL + N keyboard shortcut we can also create a new document. The quick access toolbar allows you to quickly Save a document. (CTRL + S) Sometimes we need to save a document in a different file type. Why? To increase portability and document security. Two examples of file types apart from default documents are: PDF – Portable Document Format RTF – Rich Text Format.
