Code to Enhance Learning Lesson 1 Maze

Objective: We will be able to sequence instructions to create algorithm to move Papu out of the maze.

Objective: We will be able to sequence instructions to create algorithm to move Papu out of the maze.

Activity: You will follow what I will say! Kids sit down Close all your books Put books inside your bag Close your bag Sit smart These are called instructions. Instructions are steps to be followed to do a task. Talk to your partner: Think about 2 examples of instructions. Let’s share the examples of instructions.

Activity: You will follow what I will say! Close your bag Put books inside your bag Close all your books Kids sit down Sit smart Thinking Questions: What is the difference between the instructions above and the previous instructions? Why? Let’s share the response. Sequence means things/instructions in proper order.

Example of Sequence: Talk to your partner: A boy and a girl Talk to your partner: Think of one example of sequence. Let’s share the response.

Algorithm to brush teeth Kids sit down Close all your books Put books inside your bag Close your bag Sit smart Here, these instructions will make me pack my bags. A group of instructions to complete a task is called Algorithm. Example: Algorithm to brush teeth Talk to your partner: Think of one such Algorithm you see in your daily life. Let’s share the response.

Pappu and Maze! Instructions! Move 2 Steps Forward Move 2 steps Right Move __ Steps Left Instructions! Move 2 Steps Forward Move 2 steps Right Move 1 Step Forward The above instructions to complete a task is called Algorithm. Move __ Steps Backward Move __ Steps Right Door Thinking Questions: What will happen if I interchange the last and second last block? Let’s share the response.

Pappu and Maze: (Kids in pairs) What instructions would you give to Pappu to move out of the maze? (Take 3 mins) Door Instructions! The above instructions to complete a task is called Algorithm.

Assessment

Closing: What did we do today? What is one thing that you liked in the class the most? What did you learn?
