Class News Mrs. Roberts’ February 2016 A Note from the Teacher Mackinac Island Trip: Wow parents!! You are amazing! We had a very successful coupon book sales event which earned quite a bit of money for the ones that sold them. The first trip payment is due this week, notes were sent home last week with dues. If you are unable to pay it this week, please call or send in a note for when you can. We are flexible and want every child to be able to go! What’s Happening in... Math: We have started Chapter 11 Converting Measurements. Reading: We are working in book clubs with a partner. Each group has a book in their level and are responsible for journaling everyday at school. Writing: Our literary essays are a work in progress. Social Studies: Students are working in small groups researching a Native American tribe and creating a mural. These will be displayed in the hall and will be presented to the class. Science: Science Fair projects are due Feb. 8th!! Valentine’s Day The party will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 12th from 2-3pm. We are having a shoe/cereal box decorating contest. Guidelines are attached. I am also in need of 2 bags of conversation hearts, if you can donate 1, I would surely appreciate it!!
