How to Do Term Definitions World & U.S. History How to Do Term Definitions

Highlightng Terms Select & highlight 5 – 7 words per definition. Highlight the key words that will help you study the terms for the exam. Each term & definition is worth 2 points. 1 point only if entire definition highlighted.

People Who are they? (profession/role) Where are they from? What did they do? When did they do it? Why are they important?

Place What is it? (city, state, battle site) Where is it? Who was there? What important events happened there? When did these events occur?

Event What happened? Who was involved? When did it happen? Why did it happen? What effect did it have? Why is it important?

Idea What is it? Who originated it? When? Where? Why is it important?
