Comparing Characters Identify and define the Literary Focus elements in these selections. Identify and define the Reading Focus element in the these stories. What is the Writing Focus in this story and what are you asked to do while reading? 

Author Information Read the information about the authors on page 206. Make two lists of three things you learned about each of the authors. Circle the detail you think will be the most important to help you understand the story (one for each author). Read the “Build Background” paragraph and make a list of 3 things you learned.
