Central venous thrombosis and perioperative vascular access in adult intestinal transplantation†  T. Matsusaki, T. Sakai, C.D. Boucek, K. Abu-Elmagd, L.M. Martin, N. Amesur, F. Leland Thaete, I.A. Hilmi, R.M. Planinsic, S. Aggarwal  British Journal of Anaesthesia  Volume 108, Issue 5, Pages 776-783 (May 2012) DOI: 10.1093/bja/aes016 Copyright © 2012 The Author(s) Terms and Conditions

Fig 1 The new vascular access strategy based on the pre-transplantation venography is described. Category I is the patients with accessible veins in the upper body. Category II is the patients in whom venous access in the upper body is not feasible, but in whom lower extremity venous access is possible. Category III is the patients who require special techniques to establish vascular accesses. Categories II and III are considered requiring alternative vascular accesses. The numbers in parentheses are the cases found in the current study. British Journal of Anaesthesia 2012 108, 776-783DOI: (10.1093/bja/aes016) Copyright © 2012 The Author(s) Terms and Conditions
