Light Energy 5th Grade Science

Penny Trick Set a penny on your desk. Place the base of a clear cup over the penny. Cover the top of the cup with a plate so you can’t look through the TOP of the cup. Tilt the plate so that you can pour water into the cup slowly… be careful to only look through sides of cup! Once cup is filled, place the plate back down on top of cup. What happened!?!?!?

Read Chapter 14 Lesson 3 Keep in mind interesting things you hear about light as you read. Can you come up with a solution to this question… Where did the penny go???

Make Light Foldable

Try this! What do you observe?? Take a pencil and slow put it into your cup. Let it rest on the side of the cup. What do you observe??

Are they where you thought they would be??? Try this! Look through your glass and try to find someone in the room… Are they where you thought they would be???
