The New Mexico Nonprofit Principles & Practices Guide provides guiding principles, legally required practices, and recommended standard practices across 12 areas of nonprofit management. Why We Created a Guide To have one comprehensive resource that sets the baseline for New Mexico nonprofit governance and operations

How we Created the Guide CNPE extensively researched other states’ guides. Content from 5 of those guides became the foundation for the NM Guide. A 50 member advisory committee revised content, added content, and made sure that the Guide was NM specific. 50 Advisory Committee Members

What’s in the Guide Content in the Guide Areas of nonprofit management- advocacy, board development, collaboration, communications & marketing, etc. What to consider before starting a nonprofit- mention role of AG and SOS in project How to start/close a nonprofit- a common inquiry that we receive, so we included this Glossary- helpful for anyone who is new to the nonprofit sector
