KS1 Assessments 2019

Aims of the Workshop To illustrate what assessment looks like in KS1. To look at the SATs tests the children will sit. To give you tips on what you can do to support your children’s progress. To answer any questions you may have.

What does assessment look like in KS1? Teacher Assessment Framework – helping teachers make end of KS1 judgements. Each child is assessed on their achievement in: English – reading and writing. Maths Science

Children will be: Working toward the expected standard. Working at the expected standard. Working at greater depth within the expected standard.

What can you do at home? Complete homework tasks from school – e.g. Learning Logs. Practise number bonds, times tables, telling the time, counting/using money… anything that allows the children to practically practise maths skills. Read every night – make it part of your routine. Work books – see Mrs Carlisle. Read the Teacher Assessment Framework.
