Barriers to Dignity Discuss in groups what barriers we might face and ways to address them This leads into Active Support Common barrier and enablers… Barrier - Hard to change mindset that doing everything is caring Enabler – More satisfying and fun to work together and share experiences Barrier – Quicker to do it for someone Enabler – How would you feel if that were you? Barrier - Costs more – need more resource Enabler – Be more mindful / aware of what we are doing and if people feel powerless they can become frustrated and activities such as personal care can take longer than if people are feeling empowered and positive.
