Volume 28, Issue 6, Pages R266-R269 (March 2018) Plant Reproduction: Autocrine Machinery for the Long Journey of the Pollen Tube  Tetsuya Higashiyama  Current Biology  Volume 28, Issue 6, Pages R266-R269 (March 2018) DOI: 10.1016/j.cub.2018.01.067 Copyright © 2018 Elsevier Ltd Terms and Conditions

Figure 1 ANX–BUPS and RALF signaling in the pollen tube journey. Pollen tubes grow through the pistil to deliver sperm cells to the egg-containing tissue. ANX and BUPS receptors perceive autocrine RALF4,19 ligands for growth and possibly paracrine RALF34 ligand for rupture.
