Mitsunori Maruyama et al. JACEP 2017;3:1252-1261 Measurements of the TPP and Other Diagnostic Criteria for SVTs Terminated During VOP Tachycardia termination was classified into 2 types (type 1: termination after an atrial reset; type 2: termination without any perturbation of the atrial cycle). The total pacing prematurity (TPP) was calculated as the difference between the sum of the tachycardia cycle length (TCLsum) and pacing cycle length (PCLsum) until the atrium was captured (red) in type 1 or the tachycardia was terminated in type 2. The fusion period indicates the time period with fused QRS complexes (F). The transition zone indicates the fusion period plus the first stable QRS complex (SM1). The septal ventricular electrogram (SVE) was defined as the ventricular electrograms recorded in the His bundle region. Typical responses in orthodromic reciprocating tachycardia (ORT) include atrial capture or termination within the fusion period and transition zone, simultaneous with or before the SVE advancement (blue). In atrioventricular nodal re-entrant tachycardia (AVNRT) or atrial tachycardia (AT), atrial capture typically occurs after the fusion period, transition zone, and SVE advancement. Termination after the fusion period, transition zone, and SVE advancement suggests AVNRT with type 2 termination that excludes AT. The text provides additional details. ECG = electrocardiogram; HBE = His-bundle electrogram; HRA = high right atrium; RVA = right ventricular apex; SVT = supraventricular tachycardia; VOP = ventricular overdrive pacing.
