Survey Results : Functional Preparedness S/no Issues Response 1 Systematic Charter organization is yet to formulate an IP Policy. 2 What & When to Protect – Aware of Patents & Designs with an average rating of 6 and the least knowledge of Trade secrets. 40% are aware that a patent cannot be obtained once the contents of the application have been disclosed in the public domain. 3 Mapping Key Products/ Proceess Most of them agree that Patents, Designs, Trademarks and Confidentiality Agreements are most important to their business. Complexity of design, secrecy and lead time over competitors is of maximum strategic importance 4 Valaution of IP Due to the high costs incurred for registering IP assets the company has not registered its IP.
