General information Elderly abuse is a world wide problem related to human rights, gender equality, domestic violence and aging populations Victims belong to three marginalized groups – they are elderly, victims of violence and women The need for more effective means of identifying victims The availability of assistance and the role of health professionals in providing assistance The main concerns: Healthcare professionals - lack knowledge and experience on this subject Invalid guidance at national level on how to deal with victims There is no access to the relevant training programs “Co-funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship (REC) Programme of the European Union under Grant Agreement no JUST/2015/RDAP/AG/VICT/9320”

Purposes of the project An intact topic in Estonia- Elderly Female Victims of Abuse and coping with it by the medical staff The main purpose of Project WHOSEFVA is to increase the capacity of organizations dealing with the topic of domestic violence to represent the interests of older age victims of violence in the healthcare system and in health policy The purpose of the training materials and the whole project is to help better identify older victims of violence and pay attention to how they can be best helped in this situation Increase cooperation between organizations dealing with domestic violence and health organizations “Co-funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship (REC) Programme of the European Union under Grant Agreement no JUST/2015/RDAP/AG/VICT/9320”

Project results and communication activities Project-related communication activities are carried out by partners in Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Greece, Northern Ireland and Austria.
