Presentation transcript:

The future is YOUrs Hopefully you have delivered the kick off presentation followed by the five skill presentations, and all your young people have registered as Young Professionals. This is the last presentation of the first series and aims to empower, inspire and encourage your young people to keep developing and seeing themselves as Young Professionals.

Now that you are a Young Professional what next? Your Young Professional Membership stays with you until you are 24. Each week we will add new content to our online resources and share with you a new challenge to test and develop your skills. We will help you with the building blocks for a really fantastic future. No one can make young people engage with something like the Young Professional Membership. It has to be about choice. A real decision in investing in their future.

Now that you are a Young Professional what next? The choice is yours: Keep learning, growing and see yourself as a Young Professional Or Dont.

What does your future look like? At Youth Employment UK we are experts in what employers want and what the careers of the future look like. Trust us when we say your future is really exciting. The careers that are open to you are mind blowingly brilliant. Employers are also really desperate to employ the best (by which we mean - motivated, hardworking, young people with great communication, teamwork and problem solving skills) young people into their business. Qualifications are important but more important are the skills of a Young Professional.

Get smart! Make the decision to be a Young Professional from here on in. Get on your A GAME Set your goals Develop your skills Use the tools available to you - Use our Careers Hub and research careers and employers Connect to Youth Friendly employers Get involved with volunteering and other things to grow your skills Attend events and get networking Your young people can use our careers hub to find impartial and inspiring information about all the careers available to them. The content includes top tips on CV writing, Interviews, Assessment centres, How to make career choices and so much more. We are also growing the number of employers we work with. Our employers will have profiles on the Careers Hub so young people can understand which employers are really youth friendly.

You are a Young Professional Add this to your CV, if you use LinkedIn (you should) also put it here. That way employers will know you are committed to your future and are a brilliant young person. Some of our employer friends will also guarantee you an interview when they see this on your CV.

Keep building your skills Communication Self Belief Problem Solving Every day of every week there are opportunities for young people to make good choices about developing these skills. Keep reminding them. Their future is theirs! Team Work Self Management
