Growth of L. monocytogenes strains AL4E, AT3E, and 10403S, derivative cured strain AT3Epc, and conjugation strains 10403SpclpL and 10403SpPL2 displayed no significant differences at 42°C. Growth of L. monocytogenes strains AL4E, AT3E, and 10403S, derivative cured strain AT3Epc, and conjugation strains 10403SpclpL and 10403SpPL2 displayed no significant differences at 42°C. All strains were grown in BHI broth for 10 h, and the OD600 was measured every hour. Time (in hours) is shown on the x axis. The data represent the mean OD600 values ± standard deviations (error bars) for three replicate cultures. The correspondence between the OD600 values and viable-cell numbers was verified by plate counts at mid-logarithmic and stationary growth phase.
