Short answer Two types of Short Answer questions on the Literacy Test. 1) Paragraph that asks your opinion using specific details. “Identify one action you take in your daily life to be healthy. Use specific details to explain how this action contributes to your health.”

Short answer 2) A question that asks you to read a passage and answer a question with supporting details. “Why is Lizarda a good choice for this internship? Use specific details from the selection to explain your answer” Use specific details Fill the space

Short answer Another example of two short answer questions that ask for specific details are How does this selection show the benefits of volunteering for community service? Use specific details from the selection to support your answer. What specific details were used?

Final short answer example Look at this short answer question: Does Gerry believe that Hanna’s suggestions will help him? Use specific details from the selection to support your answer. Can you find two details that support this answer?

The newspaper response Use the headline and picture as your topic Answer, Who, What, When, Where, Why, How? Indent Use paragraphs Use a quote(s) Do not use personal pronouns “you” and be objective, no opinions

The multi-paragraph response Fill the space Indent your paragraphs Aim for five paragraphs or enough information to fill the pages Only take one side of the argument Use CAPITALS at the beginning of sentences and names.
