WELCOME Welcome to the subject Natural Sciences and Technology. Here you will learn all about Science and Technology around you. You will find out what is in the soil and why is it important. You will learn about the design process, animals, plants, energy and the solar system. It has been shaped by the search to understand the natural world through observation , testing and proving of ideas.

TOPICS COVERED FOR THE YEAR TERM 1 : LIFE AND LIVING TERM 2: MATTER AND MATERIAL TERM 3: ENERGY AND CHANGE TERM 4 : PLANET EARTH AND BEYOND SPECIFIC CONTENT FOR EACH TERM & WEEK HAS BEEN PRESCRIBED BY CAPS (10 WEEKS PER TERM) TIME ALLOCATION : 3 & 1/2 HOURS (7 PERIODS A WEEK)

THE NATURAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY BOOKS INCLUDE: THE CLASSWORK BOOK – CONTAINS ALL FORMAL WORK DONE IN CLASS ON A DAILY BASIS , THIS BOOK WILL ALSO CONTAIN ANY ENRICHMENT / REMEDIAL WORK IF A LEARNERS NEEDS. PLEASE CHECK LEARNERS BOOK AND SIGN WHERE NEEDED ASSESSMENT FILE – CONTAINS ALL FORMAL ASSESSMENT TASKS

LEARNERS BOOKS Any work not completed in class can be completed during break and at home. If a learner is absent , it is the learners responsibility to make sure all work is up to date .The teacher will assist in giving worksheets and showing the learner all missed work . Kindly encourage your child to keep books up to date. Parental involvement and communication is of utmost important
