What is a Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan ? A CNMP is a conservation system that addresses natural resource concerns that occur on animal feeding operations.

Conservation System A combination of conservation practices & resource management for the treatment of soil, water, air, plant, and animal resource concerns.

Primary Components of a CNMP Manure & Wastewater Handling & Storage Land Treatment Practices Nutrient Management Record Keeping Feed Management Other Utilization Activities A multidisciplinary team including animal scientists, agronomist and engineers is needed to complete a plan of this comprehensive nature

Our goal is to teach you the concept of Comprehensive CNMP Course Objective Our goal is to teach you the concept of Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan Development

A CNMP Should: Should help ensure producer production goals are met Should help ensure natural resource protection goals are met incorporates practices to utilize animal manure as a beneficial resource US CNMPs must meet NRCS Technical Standards

Core Training Curriculum This course only covers the CNMP concept. A more detailed training curriculum on CNMP Plan development is also available. CNMP Development Core Training Curriculum
