Bell Work  You will not need to write anything down. We will set up our notebooks Friday. Discuss with your shoulder partner any classroom rules that have been broken in our class already.

1) Finish SpongeBob lab safety activity 20 minutes 1) Finish SpongeBob lab safety  activity  2) Review lab safety

Science- The knowledge or study of the natural world through observation and experiments.  Conclusion-The process of reaching a decision or judgement based on reasoning. Prediction-The process of making a statement or a claim about what will happen in the future based on past experience or evidence.  Observation-The process of using one or more senses to gather information. Hypothesis- A possible explanation for a set of observations or answer to a scientific question; must be testable. Variable-A factor that can change in an experiment Inference- An idea or conclusion that is made from evidence and reasoning. Quantitative Data- Data or observations that deal with numbers or amounts. Qualitative Data- Data or observations that deal with characteristics that can not be expressed in numbers. Replication- An attempt to repeat a scientist's experiment by a different scientist or group of scientists.  Repetition- A repetition of an experiment to gather additional data and determine whether the experiment's results support the hypothesis.  Science Vocabulary

The Scientific Method 1.Ask a question Gather information and observe (research) Make a hypothesis (guess the answer) Experiment and test your hypothesis Analyze your test results Present a conclusion The Scientific Method
