We give because we are loved & we love

Give what’s right not what’s left of your time, effort & money to important people & things

Giving in Public or Secret Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. When you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

Jesus’ revolutionary agenda Blessed are 3-5the poor in spirit, those who mourn & the meek 6-8 those who hunger for righteousness, are merciful and pure in heart 9the peacemakers who are persecuted because of righteousness 16Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Be Bold

What the revolutionary agenda looks like Light-on-a-hill-Righteousness Below is Nic’s interpretation of the 2nd Half of Matthew 5 Jesus said 22  that your brother who receives your anger is a victim 28 that a lusted after woman is a victim of adultery 32  that a divorced wife is a victim of adultery 34  that when you deceive someone they become a victim 44  that your unloved enemy is a victim 48 Be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Righteousness Challenging oppression while oppressing no-one What could possibly get in the way? Money – power over (Zac) Status – Me in place of God.

Thank God for his written Word to us Matthew 6 1  “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Thank God for his written Word to us

Righteousness Giving in secret Money – power over Status – Me in place of God. May you know the blessing of being loved and loving of receiving and giving of being satisfied with the love of God
