Group Project: Expectation

Problem definition Clearly identify the problem. Who is affected by the probleb?

Alternative and proposed Solutions Clearly at least 2 alternative solutions (including the you are proposing) Rationale behind your proposed solution How would the proposed solution address the problem Be Specific, in terms of dollar save, System efficiency How is your proposed solution better than alternative solutions

Scope Identify the boundary conditions and scope of the system Remember you are not solving world territories, Hunger or Cancer. Be specific as to what your solution will do. This is important as clients will have unrealistic expectations.

Budget and Schedule Schedule will follow a task break down of the entire project. You can use excel or MS project for the schedule. Budget will include the following: Capital budget computers, software etc Labor Programming and consulting charges

Project Organization Organizational Chart Identify the project manager, programmers, System Architect, Technical writers clearly. One person can have multiple responsibilities Responsibilities Matrix Next Slide.

Project Organization I  Inputs P Participant A Accountable S Sign off

Deliverables What are the deliverables? Who is accountable?

DFD and ERDS Identify the context diagram of your proposed solution Show the level 0 expansion Show the ERD of the proposed system Create tables Normalize the tables to 3NF.
