Answer Unlike Mercury, Venus has a thick atmosphere that traps energy from the sun.

Did you know…? At sea level on Earth’s surface, water boils at 100°C, but if you try to boil water on top of a high mountain, you will find that the boiling point is lower. This is because the atmospheric pressure is less at higher altitude. The atmospheric pressure on the surface of Mars is so low that liquid water can’t exist at all.
