Background Until 2015, ITS TF had information exchange and cooperative activities among SDOs for ITU-R WP5A and ITU-T/Collaboration on ITS Communications Standards. One of the successful outcome was cooperative contribution for the development of ITU-R Recommendation M.2084, which recommends radio interface standards of ARIB, ETSI, IEEE and TTA on V2X communication. During 2016, ITS TF was not so active. One of the reasons for the status would be that V2X communication is now coming from standardization phase to deployment phase after the development of each SDO's standard and ITU-R recommendation on V2X. On the other hand, in 2017, we are now recognizing new important topics to be shared such as WRC-19 Agenda Item 1.12, LTE V2X, and so on.

ITU-R Recommendation on V2X ITU-R M.2084 : Radio interface standards of vehicle- to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications for Intelligent Transport System applications Scope: This Recommendation identifies specific radio interface standards of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to- infrastructure communications for Intelligent Transport System applications. Current status ITS TF members has shared views on further activity of ITS TF using the TF email reflector, and recognized the following important topics. WRC-19 Agenda Item 1.12 on harmonized frequency bands for ITS Active standardization on V2X communications using LTE technology ITS TF members think that information sharing and further cooperative activities on the important topics will be beneficial.

Discussion on possible work items in ITS TF WRC-19 Agenda Item 1.12 on harmonized frequency bands for ITS Work: Information sharing and possible cooperative contribution on relevant activities including; development of recommendation and report in ITU-R and each region. consideration of ITS applications in 5.8/5.9 GHz band in WRC-19 Agenda Item 1.12 and study for WRC-19 Agenda Item 1.16 that covers RLAN use up to 5.925 GHz. Discussion on possible work items in ITS TF V2X communications using LTE technology Work: Information sharing and/or facilitation on relevant activities including; test plans and results in each region. study on coexistence and interworking issue between WAVE/ITS G5 and LTE-V2X in 5.9 GHz band.
