Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Inc. The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is a charitable, nonprofit corporation sponsored by the Florida Sheriffs Association which provides a statewide network of residential child-care facilities, camping programs, and community-based counseling services to Florida’s needy, neglected youth and their families. The mission of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is to prevent delinquency and develop lawful, resilient and productive citizens. The Youth Ranches operates and manages the Boys Ranch/Live Oak, Youth Villa/Bartow, Youth Ranch/Safety Harbor, Youth Camp/Barberville, Caruth Camp-Inglis/Yankeetown, and the Youth Ranch-Bradenton/Sarasota.

Camping Services The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches Camping Services started in 1981 on the banks of the Suwannee River with Deputy Sheriffs providing a week of outdoor group living with a focus on our theme of “Law Officers are Your Friends”. In 1983 after years of renting other camps, the Youth Ranches purchased a GS camp and open our own Youth Camp.

In 1996 Caruth Camp was renovated and added to the Youth Ranches Camping Services Department as a sister camp to Youth Camp. 1998 saw the growth of Camping Services through the delivery of a mobile day camp model traveling the state of Florida to impact more than 5,000 campers annually. The Youth Ranch in Bradenton/Sarasota established our first permanent location day camp in 2015.

Camping Services Programming Provide campers with opportunities to try new activities, learn new skills, and make new friends Allow campers to interact with law enforcement officers in a positive manner and learn that "Law Enforcement Officers are your friends” Teach campers valuable teamwork skills through group living, group decision making, and group building activities

Camp Pendery Vision The Camp will be used initially as a day camp site hosting 8 weeks of summer camp for 60 youth per week per season and possibly growing into an overnight camp hosting 9 weeks of summer camp for 72 youth per summer. The camp will be a co-ed camp. During the school year we are seeking to be able to run after school programming, weekend user groups and meeting/training space for the Sheriff’s Office and Community partners.
