From 1959-1962 Arman developed his most recognizable style, beginning with his two most renowned concepts: "Accumulation" and "Poubelle". Accumulations were collections of common and identical objects which he arranged in polyester castings or within Plexiglas cases. The "Poubelles" were collections of strewn refuse.
Notice that while the surface may be covered with a less formal size and shape of tesserra, and the interstices may be larger, there is still use of pattern, rhythm and design principles.
Sometimes the mural is painted all one color for reasons of unity and so that one can focus on the overall texture.
