Blade Runner Permission Slips If anyone has still not turned in a permission slip to watch Blade Runner, I need it ASAP. We will be watching Blade Runner next week. If you do not have your permission slip signed then you will have to complete an alternative assignment.

Robots Unit Summative Assessment: On Demand Synthesis Essay (100 test points) This is what you will be asked to do at end of unit: Taking into account the pieces we have read along with your own opinion, answer the essential question, “What does it mean to be human?” For your response, you need to cite at least 3 of the texts/films you have encountered over the course of this unit. You may use direct quotes, paraphrasing, or summarizing, but make sure to cite the author/director.

Compare and Contrast Often times to find the major point of a story, we need to compare and contrast to understand what is being highlighted in each story and what specific claim is the author trying to make. Remember… Compare- estimate, measure, or note the similarity between two things. Contrast- to differ greatly.

How to make a proper Compare/Contrast Read closely. Annotate/make notes as you read along. Look at specific elements, not just an overall topic. If you get this joke, much respect.
