He went to Tony and spoke to him. “Tony, do you know I'm in charge here today?”Tony replied, coldly. “I was going to fire you the first time we quarreled, but I want you to know I’m not,” he told Tony, adding what the foreman had said. ⑥After his words, Tony dropped the shovelful of sand he had held and tears streamed down his face. “Why he didn’t tell me that eight years ago?” ⑦That day Tony worked harder than ever before – and he smiled! He later said to Rogers, “my first foreman who ever say, ‘Good work, Tony,’ and it made me feel like Christmas.” ⑤ Rogers took over the next day.
